Pro Dive International – Mexico & Dominican Republic

Pro Dive International, one of the Caribbean’s most established PADI 5 Star Dive Resorts and leading Career Development Centers are pleased to announce that their continued support toward DIVING FOR LIFE, has contributed to the collection of the total amount of US$95,000 during November’s DFL-AUCTION in the Philippines, to be given to HEALTH SERVICE CHARITIES.

Diving For Life is a non-profit organization that sponsors The International Gay and Lesbian SCUBA Jamboree. The Jamboree is a fund raising event that offers a fun filled week of SCUBA diving with 100 – 125 or more GLBTT divers attending. All proceeds from the Jamboree are donated to charitable organizations that support the health concerns of the GLBTT community.

“The money was obtained in lieu of travel agent commissions plus a raffle/ auction program at our Gay and Lesbian Scuba Jamboree. This figure is astounding, considering we had 109 participants. Resort size and dive-safety limit our participant numbers.  Through hard work, ongoing support, and selfless generosity over the past 25 years, DFL has given away over one million dollars” stated by directors Christine Simon and Jeremy Wilbur.

PRO DIVE INTERNATIONAL and OCCIDENTAL COZUMEL 5* had repeatedly sponsored a weekend’s stay & dive package for two at the world’s top dive destination Cozumel/ Mexico.

Recipient health-service organizations have been selected by local scuba clubs. Their recent recipient organizations include:  AIDS Service Center- Los Angeles, CA; AIDS Interfaith Network of Dallas, TX; Ali Forney Center, Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, LGBT Community Center, and Sylvia’s Place – New York City; The AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland- Cleveland, OH; AIDS Resource Center Cincinnati- Cincinnati, OH; Adolescent Counseling Center, Asian Pacific Wellness Center’s TRANS:TRIVE, Trevor Project; Tom Waddell Urban Health’s Transgender Program (San Francisco Department of Public Health), Lyon-Martin Health Services, Pacific Center- San Francisco, CA; Our House -AIDS Hospice House,  SMYRC -GBLTT Youth Counseling Center,  Pride of the Rose (via Equity Foundation) – DFL Scholarship HIV Studies/Support- Portland, OR; Mama’s Kitchen and Stepping Stones – San Diego, CA;  Gay City Health Project- Seattle, WA; Lambert House- Seattle WA;  Bobby Goldsmith Foundation- Sydney, NSW, Australia;  Fife House – Toronto, ON; DC Center, MetroDC PFLAG, and Whitman-Walker Health – Washington, DC; GLBT Community Center of Baltimore, MD;  Camp Rehoboth – Rehoboth Beach, DE.
