“One who ‘lives to dive’ can also ‘dive to live’.”

Pro Dive International – Mexico & Dominican Republic

Pro Dive International, one of the Caribbean’s most established PADI 5 Star Dive Resorts and recognized Career Development Centers are delighted to announce that their support towards DIVING FOR LIFE has proven very successful during last year´s event in Costa Rica.

Diving for Life is a non-profit organization that sponsors The International Gay and Lesbian SCUBA Jamboree. All donations are given to charitable organizations that support the health concerns of the LGBTT community.

“On behalf of the participants of Diving for Life (DFL) 2015, we are thrilled to announce that we will distribute $105,000 to health service charities. We obtained this money in lieu of travel agent commissions plus a raffle/ auction program at our Gay and Lesbian Scuba Jamboree in Costa Rica September 2015. This figure is astounding, considering we had 167 participants. (Resort size and dive-safety limit our participant numbers.) Through hard work, ongoing support, and selfless generosity over the past 24 years, DFL has given away over one million dollars!” state Christine Simon & Jeremy Wilbur, Donations Directors of Diving for Life.

Both highlight that “Because of your contribution, our raffle and auction program was a huge success and raised a significant portion of the money we are distributing. Thank you so much for your generosity.” Pro Dive International and Occidental Grand Cozumel had donated a weekend stay & dive package for two at top dive destination Cozumel.

One who “lives to dive” can also “dive to live.” has proven by Patrick Kelly when he organized the First Annual Diving For Life Scuba Jamboree in 1992. As a veteran diver who was badly in love with the sport and infected with the AIDS virus, Patrick dreamt of uniting all gay and lesbian divers while raising money to fight the virus that was slowly depriving him of life.

The Twenty Fifth Annual DFL will be held in the Philippines from 5-12 November 2016. More information about the organization and this year’s event can be viewed on their website:
