I can’t speak for the candidates but for me this IDC has flown by. Already our candidates have completed all the required components of the PADI Instructor Development Course and they started today their Mock IE to simulate how things will work on the day of the Instructor Exams.
On this IDC we have nine candidates who come to us from six different countries: UK, Denmark, Canada, Belize, Mexico and Spain. We’re teaching, as is customary with The GoPro Family, two side-by-side courses in English and Spanish.
The Mock IE is not an official requirement of an IDC, but we include it as a way for the candidates to reinforce their newly-learned teaching skills and give them confidence before going to the real exams. At the moment the candidates’ focus is the coming weekend where one of PADI’s Examiners will come to verify their skills (and our training!) and assess whether they have the necessary knowledge and skills to become a PADI Instructor. Of course, the IE is just the beginning for the candidates. After that comes The Real Test of being a PADI Instructor with real students.
Today was the birthday of one of the candidates, Ana, which was a great excuse for a cupcake and burst of sugar before the theory exams!!
